Here are some answers to the questions we have been asked regarding RuPaul's Visit to the store.
Please call the store with any other questions BEFORE Thursday evening!

CAMERA NOTE:
Make sure you have your camera ON and properly set to your preferred settings (indoor, portrait, flash, auto-focus, etc).
No Video filming is permitted.

Will RuPaul be in drag?
You will get to meet RuPaul as himself, not in drag.

Why not?
Professional drag requires hours of preparation, not to mention proper lighting! Bookstores do not typically have the facilities required.

What does "Line Ticketed Event" mean?
It means we are controlling the line by providing FREE tickets to our customers.

How do I get a ticket?
Tickets are provided FREE the evening of the event. Simply purchase RuPaul's newest book, or show proof of prior purchase and tickets will be handed out when you are ready to start standing in line. RuPaul will only be signing books purchased at Obelisk Shoppe.

Can I be first in line?
There are no line positions. First come, first serve. If you leave the line, you must re-enter at the end of the line.

How early should I arrive?
We anticipate a line starting to form around 6pm, but we can't be sure of anything. The initial line will be staged on the sidewalk outside the store. You are welcome to arrive AFTER the start date if that is easier for your schedule, but remember our book supply is limited. RuPaul will do his best to stay as long as required to satisfy all his fans.

Can I bring a friend with me?
Sure! One book-buying customer may bring one (1) guest to meet RuPaul. Groups are not permitted unless multiple books are purchased.

Can I get a photo with RuPaul?
Sure! However, RuPaul will not be posing. An Obelisk staff member will take your camera and shoot photos of you as you take your turn getting your book signed.

I can't make the signing; can I still get a signed book?
No. Because of the overwhelming response and time involved (If RuPaul were to sign books for those not in attendance) we will not be able to offer this at this event.
